"If Real Estate is Your Profession, Politics is YOUR Business."  The Government Affairs Committee monitors issues that affect the real estate industry and OBAR members. Issues currently on the forefront include septic health, affordable housing, property insurance, town/county zoning amendments impacting private property rights and more. The Committee makes recommendations for action, in coordination with the Government Affairs Director, to the Board of Directors on key issues.

"If you don't have a seat at the table, you could be on the menu."  OBAR fosters a proactive relationship with local, state and national legislative leaders to be the leading advocate of the real estate industry, private property rights and the issues that most affect the members’ ability to serve the public with competency, integrity and professionalism as outlined in OBAR's  Public Policy Position Statements.
