The Outer Banks Association of REALTORS® (OBAR) recently hosted its annual Charity Bowling Tournament as part of its signature Surf, Turf, and Roll fundraising initiative. This three-part series—featuring a surf fishing tournament, golf tournament, and bowling event—brings the community together in support of OBAR’s charitable efforts.

With nearly 20 teams participating, the OBX Bowling Alley was filled with energy and excitement as bowlers arrived in festive “superhero” attire, rolling for a great cause.

This year’s first-place team, Alley Avengers, was led by captain Lisa Sawyer of Basnight & Moran Insurance. The Spirit Award was presented to The Uncrustables, led by Steven Gillis of Steven Gillis State Farm, for their outstanding enthusiasm and team spirit.

New this year, OBAR introduced a “Superhero” donation board, which will be featured at each Surf, Turf, and Roll fundraising event to recognize top donors. Special thanks go to Steven Gillis State Farm, Basnight & Moran Insurance, Ilona Matteson, The Doshier Team, Coastal Carolina, Doug Brindley, and Island Insurance for their generous contributions.

The event raised over $5,000 to support OBAR’s Disaster Relief Fund, held at the Outer Banks Community Foundation. This year’s proceeds will directly assist families impacted by fire damage at the Shallow Bag Bay Condominiums.

A special thank you goes to Event Chair Tiffany Moldovan and Co-Chair Carrie Bateman for their leadership, dedication, and hard work in organizing a successful and memorable event.
